QI Tech enables Vivo Pay Crediário launch and strengthens the expansion of retail credit

The company’s infrastructure enables large companies to turn their distribution capabilities into credit offerings integrated into the purchasing journey.

QI Tech, a leading financial services infrastructure company, has partnered with Vivo to enable the launch of Vivo Pay Crediário, the telecom operator’s new solution that allows customers to pay for electronics purchased at its physical stores in up to 21 installments. The solution is already available in more than 20% of Vivo stores and is expected to expand across Brazil soon.

The initiative reinforces a growing market trend: the integration of credit into the purchasing experience. With QI Tech’s infrastructure, companies with strong distribution capabilities can offer financial services efficiently, at scale and seamlessly integrated into the customer journey.

“Credit is no longer a standalone product; it is a layer of the experience. What we are building is the ability for companies like Vivo to offer financial solutions at the exact moment of the purchasing decision, with speed, control and scale,” says Pedro Mac Dowell, CEO and founder of QI Tech.

With Vivo Pay Crediário, Vivo customers can finance purchases of products such as smartphones, tablets, TVs, smartwatches, notebooks and gaming consoles directly at the company’s stores. The solution — which follows a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) model — can be used as the primary payment method or combined with a credit or debit card, expanding purchasing options and access to retail credit.

The operation was structured on QI Tech’s infrastructure, which enables the entire financial product journey, from origination to settlement. For Vivo, this includes the banking infrastructure for the operation, collections and Credit Rights Investment Funds (FIDCs), which are essential to ensuring funding and scalability for credit operations under this model.

The partnership also reinforces Vivo’s progress in its financial services strategy. Under the Vivo Pay brand, the company already offers personal loans, worker credit and advances on Brazil’s FGTS birthday withdrawal benefit. Together, these services generated BRL 488 million in revenue last year. In addition, the company has extended more than BRL 1.1 billion in credit since 2020, and approximately 39% of smartphones sold in its stores were purchased with insurance coverage.

“When a company with Vivo’s reach adds credit to the purchasing journey, it expands access, increases conversion potential and creates a more recurring financial relationship with consumers. Our role is to ensure that this happens with robust technology, operational efficiency and regulatory security,” Mac Dowell adds.

The launch highlights how financial infrastructure is becoming increasingly central to the strategies of non-financial companies seeking to offer credit products with fast implementation and an integrated customer experience. In this context, QI Tech acts as an enabler of this movement, connecting technology, regulation, funding and execution capabilities to transform distribution into high-value financial services.
