QI Tech received a BRL 270 million investment, equivalent to approximately US$50 million at the time, through a Series A round led by GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund. Presented as the largest Series A round raised by a Latin American fintech, the transaction marked the company’s first external investment and expanded its capacity to develop new financial market solutions.
Investment to expand the credit journey
The proceeds were intended to support the development of new products, enhance the credit journey — from origination to collections — and expand QI Tech’s data science capabilities. The company also planned to grow its team and pursue a mergers and acquisitions strategy, incorporating complementary technologies into its infrastructure.
At the time, QI Tech already served more than 100 companies, including fintechs, asset managers, banks, and businesses from other industries. Since beginning operations, the company had processed more than BRL 5.5 billion in credit transactions.
Technology for financial services
QI Tech developed a Lending as a Service model that enables companies to offer different credit products through APIs using integrated technological and regulatory infrastructure.
The platform was designed to operate through automated processes and support the entire journey, including origination, formalization, payments, transfers, and collections. With the investment, QI Tech reinforced its strategy of making this infrastructure more comprehensive and scalable.
