QI Tech received authorization from the Central Bank of Brazil to operate as a Direct Credit Society (Sociedade de Crédito Direto – SCD), becoming the first company in the country to obtain this regulatory authorization. This milestone marked the company’s official entry into Brazil’s regulated National Financial System and consolidated its business model as a financial institution authorized to grant credit using its own funds through a fully digital platform.
What is a Direct Credit Society?
An SCD is a type of financial institution established by the Central Bank of Brazil under Resolution No. 4,656/2018. It allows technology companies to operate in the credit market without raising funds from the public, using their own capital or issuing instruments such as receivables certificates. The model was designed to foster competition in the financial sector and broaden access to credit in Brazil.
